PORCELAIN AUTHENTICITY TESTING
For Porcelain authenticity testing, you can book your item in here via this form. We will need to know some details about the piece and where the object for authenticity https://www.oxfordauthentication.com/book-item-tl-testing/ testing is located so we can arrange sampling and authenticity testing.
How we sample porcelain
We or one of our accredited sampling agents will use a hollow diamond core drill to remove two cylinder shaped cores from the base or an other unglazed part of the object. The cores are 3-4mm in diameter and 5mm in length. All Porcelain authenticity testing sampling is carried out under running cold water to stop overheating.

Results and certificate
After we have tested your piece, we will issue you with a certificate of authenticity testing. Samples are normally processed within 3-4 weeks and once payment is received, preliminary results can be emailed on request. Original reports are then posted to you.

In accordance with company policy, Oxford Authentication Ltd does not disclose raw glow-curve data, instrument settings, calibration parameters, or detailed experimental protocols, as these form part of the company’s confidential and proprietary analytical methodology. PRICING
Sampling is included in the Porcelain authenticity testing cost if you’re in the UK but a travel charge applies outside central London. If you are outside the UK, there will be a separate sampling fee, which you should pay directly to our accredited agent, authorised by us.
Travel expenses
Central London: Free of charge.
Outside the UK: Please contact us for travel costs. Minimum group size: 10 pieces or more.
On site sampling
We offer a ‘while you wait’ sampling service by appointment only, sampling takes on average 30 mins, results will be in ready in 3-4 weeks as standard unless you have requested an express service.
You can send items to us, but please give us prior notice – you can book in sending your items for testing here.
