Authenticity testing

Our services cover the testing of the range of fired ceramic antiquities, including earthenware, stoneware, porcelain and the casting cores of bronzes. In order to test your piece, we need to take a small sample. The sampling method depends on the material we are testing.

Our sampling is always carried out by a fully qualified Oxford Authentication member of staff or agent. The sampler documents and photographs every object at the time of sampling.  The samples, documentation and photographs are then sent to our Oxfordshire laboratory for testing.
